For businesses

If you run a hotel, restaurant, tour or shop in Suriname, here is exactly how this site treats you — including the parts that are not to your advantage.

Getting listed

Listings are editorial. You cannot buy one and you do not need to ask for one: we add places we judge useful to a visitor, in the order we get to them. What you can do is make us faster and more accurate, by pointing us at a source we can verify — your own website, your registration, your official page.

To suggest a place, email hello@travelparamaribo.com with the name and a link. We will not confirm a timeline, because the queue is decided by what travellers ask about.

Correcting your listing

Use the Claim this listing link on your page. We verify that you are connected to the business, then record your corrections as facts sourced to you and dated. Your correction does not silently overwrite a stronger source; where two credible sources disagree, the page says so.

What claiming does not do: it does not give you editing rights, it does not move you up any list, and it does not let you remove accurate information you would rather were not public.

Sponsorship

Sponsorship is available, and it is deliberately narrow.

  • A sponsored placement appears in its own block, labelled — the label is stored with the sponsorship in the database and rendered on every page that shows it.
  • It never changes an editorial list. Not the contents, not the order. There is no "boost" setting in the system, so this is not a promise we could quietly break.
  • It does not affect what your page says. Sponsors get the same fact-checking, and the same refusal to publish claims without a source, as everyone else.
  • We disclose that the site's owner also owns a Surinamese tour operator, SwitiTours, and it gets no editorial preference either (more on that).

What we will not do

  • Write a review — we do not publish reviews or ratings at all.
  • Take a listing down because it is unflattering, if it is accurate and sourced.
  • Publish a claim you cannot point us to a source for.
  • Sell placement inside an editorial list under any label.
