As of 21 August 2026 its own station page listed the desk as open 24 hours, seven days a week, with a key drop box for after-hours returns.
That 24-hour opening matters more here than at most airports: international arrivals into Paramaribo are often late in the evening, and the drive into the city takes about 45 minutes.
If you are booking online, use the station-specific page for code PBM. Avis's regional roll-up page for Suriname currently returns Caribbean island stations instead of Surinamese ones, which is a good way to end up with a booking on the wrong continent. Search results also surface a second Avis address in Paramaribo city, which we could not confirm on any Avis-owned page and therefore do not list.
There is no Uber in Paramaribo. What there is: a walkable centre, a state bus network, private minibuses, two car rental brands, river boats and a small-plane airline for the interior.
