Three days in Paramaribo
A workable three-day plan: the UNESCO inner city on foot, a day across the river in Commewijne, and a third day that depends on what you want from Suriname.

Paramaribo's central market, on the Waterkant beside the Suriname River in the historic inner city.
Verified
The Centrale Markt is the two-storey market hall on the Waterkant, on the riverfront inside the historic inner city and directly on the walking route between Fort Zeelandia and the rest of the centre.
The layout is simple and worth knowing before you go in: fruit, vegetables, meat and fish on the ground floor, clothing and general goods above. It trades Monday to Saturday, and deliveries arrive early by truck and boat, so the morning is when the ground floor is at its best.
We have not been able to confirm opening times from any source we could verify, only the trading days.
One thing not to confuse it with: the Vreedzaammarkt nearby is a separate market, specialising in Indigenous and Maroon herbs and natural medicines. It deserves its own entry and does not yet have one — if that is what you are looking for, the Centrale Markt is not it.
