Fernandes Bakkerij was founded in 1918 by Isaac Fernandes and his son Jule, and is now the dominant bakery brand in Suriname. Its head office and production site is at Prof. W.J. Kernkampweg 52-54 in Paramaribo, on +597 463200.

For a visitor, the relevant part is not the plant but the Warme Bakker retail shops and pastry outlets, where Surinamese bakery items are sold over the counter. This is where you meet the everyday baked side of the country's food — the same range you will see stacked on supermarket shelves and served at breakfast in hotels.

The gap in this entry is a real one: the company's contact page lists the Kernkampweg address, which is the factory, but not the addresses or opening hours of the individual shops. Do not turn up at Kernkampweg expecting a cafe. Details re-checked 21 August 2026.
