Baka Foto
Restaurant at the Fort Zeelandia site on Abraham Crijnssenweg in Paramaribo, in a historic building beside the Suriname River. It has also traded as Museumrestaurant Baka Foto.
Best for riverside dining, historic setting, dinner.
Closed for a maintenance break until 15 September 2026. The restaurant announced on 7 September 2026 that it is closed from Monday 7 to Monday 14 September while it carries out work in its kitchen, and reopens on Tuesday 15 September. Reservations from that date are taken on WhatsApp +597 856-2442.
Baka Foto sits at Abraham Crijnssenweg 1, the Fort Zeelandia site, which makes it the obvious pairing with a morning at the Stichting Surinaams Museum inside the fort. It is a riverside restaurant in a historic building, and it has also traded under the name Museumrestaurant Baka Foto.
That name history matters if you are searching for it: the restaurant has more than one listing on the review platforms, under both names, so reviews and photos are split across entries and none of them gives a complete picture.
We have not been able to confirm current opening hours, a phone number or a menu from any source we could read. The address was re-checked on 21 August 2026 through a Suriname business directory. Given that it shares a site with a museum that closes at 14:00, check before planning an evening around it.
