Sint Vincentius Ziekenhuis, widely known as the RKZ, is a general hospital at Koninginnestraat 4 in central Paramaribo, which makes it the closest full hospital to the historic inner city and most visitor accommodation. The main number is +597 471212.
Its own site lists a broad set of specialisms, including general surgery, anaesthesia, dermatology, gynaecology, haematology, internal medicine, ENT, paediatrics, neurology, orthopaedics, psychiatry, radiology, rheumatology and urology, alongside an ambulance service and an in-house pharmacy.
One current practicality, and it is the kind that changes: since 5 June 2026 the Prins Hendrikstraat entrance lane and parking have been closed for rehabilitation work, and drop-off has moved to the Koninginnestraat entrance. That is a temporary notice, so confirm it is still in force before directing a taxi.
The site carries no dedicated emergency-department information and no statement about walk-in policy for foreign visitors.
