Every withdrawal: SRD 17.60 including VAT at any bank, BNETS or Cashpnt ATM since 1 August 2026. A balance enquiry is SRD 1.10. Card payments in shops and online transfers are free. The SRD 11 fee that circulated earlier in 2026 is superseded.
Reading the table
The foreign-card answer comes from a publication, not a bank. No Surinamese bank publishes its rules for foreign cards on its own site; the limits and acceptance above are from Explore Suriname's ATM guide, which we read on 21 August 2026 and which recommends Republic Bank first. Treat it as good guidance rather than a guarantee, and arrive with several days of cash regardless.
Finabank's figures are for its own customers. It publishes the clearest official statement on cash access in the country, but SRD 3,000 is the ceiling for a Finabank card, not for the card in your wallet. Its main office is at Dr. Sophie Redmondstraat 59–61 in the centre, with five more branches around the country.
Cashpnt is the network you will walk past most, because six banks share it, and the one least predictable with a foreign card. If a Cashpnt machine refuses you, that is not necessarily your bank; find a Republic Bank machine.

De Surinaamsche Bank (DSB)
De Surinaamsche Bank is a Surinamese commercial bank offering payment accounts, card services, internet banking and a mobile app. It publishes daily buying and selling rates for the US dollar and the euro against the Surinamese dollar on its website.
Finabank
Finabank is a Surinamese commercial bank with its main office at Dr. Sophie Redmondstraat 59-61 in central Paramaribo and five further branches around the country. It operates Finamatic ATMs at its branches and its cards work on the national Cashpnt ATM network.
The rate, and where to check it
DSB's front page publishes daily buy and sell rates for USD and EUR against the SRD. It is the reference to look at before changing money anywhere: in a currency that has moved as much as this one, knowing the bank rate is the difference between a fair exchange and a bad one.

At those rates SRD 20,000 is about USD 530 or EUR 455, SRD 3,000 about USD 80, and the SRD 17.60 fee about USD 0.47.
Hours
Bank counters in Paramaribo keep narrow weekday windows: Finabank's 08:00–15:00 Monday to Friday is typical. Republic Bank and DSB do not publish branch hours on their own sites. Whatever needs a counter, do it on a weekday morning, and not on one of Suriname's many national free days, when banks and government offices close.
