Roline's de Waag
Roline's de Waag, Waterkant 5: restaurant and terrace in the historic De Waag weigh-house at the start of the Waterkant, serving Surinamese dishes such as pom and masala chicken alongside grill and international items. Opening hours are not published by any source we could verify.
Best for riverside dining, local specialities, historic setting.
Roline's de Waag occupies De Waag, the old weigh house at Waterkant 5, where the riverside boulevard begins. The building is the draw: it is one of the landmarks of the Waterkant frontage inside the UNESCO-inscribed inner city, and the terrace looks out over the Suriname River.
The kitchen serves Surinamese dishes alongside international and grill items. Directory listings describe it as a lunch and dinner restaurant.
Two caveats. First, De Waag has housed several restaurants over the years, and the current tenancy appears to be recent. If you have an older recommendation for this address, it may not be for this operation. Second, we could not confirm opening hours from any source we could read: the restaurant's listings on the platforms that carry them refuse automated checks. Ring ahead.
