Awarradam is one of the lodges METS Travel & Tours runs itself, and METS's own site lists it as a current all-inclusive package from €425. The lodge sits on an island at the Awaadan rapids on the Gran Rio, roughly 225 km south of Paramaribo in Saramaccan territory.

Getting there has two stages: a flight of about 55 minutes from Zorg & Hoop airport to the Kajana airstrip, then some 30 minutes by korjaal up the Gran Rio to the island at the foot of the rapids. Accommodation is traditionally built — two beds under mosquito nets, an en-suite bathroom with cold running water, hammocks on the balcony — and the power is solar.

Because it is sold as a package and not as a room, there is no nightly rate here and no walking up: you book the trip, and the flight days set the dates. Several Paramaribo agencies resell the same lodge, which is why the same place appears under slightly different trip names and prices.
