How much do excursions in Suriname cost? Every published tour price, by trip and seller

Short answer: in September 2026 the cheapest excursion sold from Paramaribo was the sunset dolphin boat at EUR 27.50 per person and the most expensive published programme was Kabalebo at EUR 1,258. Between them: guided city walks from EUR 22, Commewijne plantation days from EUR 60, Jodensavanne from EUR 65, Brownsberg from EUR 68, Overbridge from EUR 75, Galibi turtle trips from EUR 175 for two days, Bigi Pan from EUR 180, Fredberg from EUR 285 and the river lodges from EUR 260 to EUR 665. Each row is one seller's published product; a seller with no printed price is listed as "Not published" rather than given someone else's number. Prices are in the currency the seller used and are not converted; the Suriname price index carries the day's bank rate for the wider cost of a trip.

How to read it

"From" is a floor, not a quote. Orange Travel and METS mark most prices "from"; SUforYou prints "vanaf". The price on the day depends on group size, season and, at Orange's Brownsberg, 10 percent VAT that the page excludes. The number that counts is the one in the operator's written confirmation.

Per person, usually. Jenny Tours, Orange, Cardy, SUforYou, Switi Tours and the reseller All Suriname Tours state per-person prices. METS does not state the basis on its day-trip list. Frederiksdorp, which sells day visits directly, charges a per-person fee in Surinamese dollars (SRD 550 for international visitors, SRD 350 for children, on its FAQ) and a per-boat crossing from the Marienburg pier.

The spread between sellers is real. The same Commewijne boat day was published at EUR 60 (SUforYou), EUR 65 and EUR 70 (METS), EUR 70 (Jenny Tours, Cardy, the reseller), EUR 74.80 (Orange), EUR 75 (Switi Tours, owner of this site) and EUR 79 (Access Suriname Travel), with the road and bus versions at EUR 85. Most of that is inclusions: lunch is in Jenny Tours' EUR 70 and Switi Tours' EUR 75 and excluded from Orange's EUR 74.80; hotel pick-up is in some and not others; minimums run from two to six. Read the terms column before the price column.

Two sellers, one price. Several products carry identical prices at METS and at the reseller All Suriname Tours (dolphins EUR 28, Galibi EUR 185, Raleighvallen EUR 400, Kasikasima EUR 808), and SUforYou's Palumeu matches METS's EUR 665. That is consistent with resale of the same underlying trip; the reseller's listings do not name the operator, so we cannot say so as fact.

The operators' own pages disagree with themselves. Cardy's Jodensavanne is EUR 65 on the product page and EUR 75 on its overview; Jenny Tours' Jodensavanne page prints EUR 82.50 in the header and mentions 75 euro in the text; Orange's dolphin page prints a minimum of six and of four. We record both figures with a note rather than choosing.

What a price includes, where it is stated

Only some sellers itemise. Where they do, the recorded inclusions are in the note beside each row in the table. The pattern: boat and guide are always in; lunch, entrance fees and hotel pick-up vary; drinks are usually soft drinks and water; VAT is in except where Orange says otherwise. Tips are never included. Cash on the day in Surinamese dollars, euros or US dollars is the norm for balances (Jenny Tours takes a 30 percent deposit, Switi Tours 20 percent); card payment before you fly exists at Jenny Tours' webshop and at the reseller.

Prices we do not print

This index holds only what a seller publishes on its own site or listing. It therefore does not print: Viator or GetYourGuide prices (both blocked our reader on 6 September 2026); Does Travel & Cadushi Tours (its site listed only international destinations); Peperpot's entrance fee and any guided-walk or bike-hire price (the park's site refused our reader); Fort Nieuw-Amsterdam's admission (its site does not resolve); Jodensavanne's fee (none published); Brownsberg's park entrance fee (operators say it is included but not what it is); Colakreek's entrance fee (no official site found); Leonsberg boat crossings (no tariff); Access Suriname Travel's boat trips, whose page shows one starting price for three products; and any product whose page we could not fetch. Each will be added the day a source publishes it.

Where the money goes

The single decision that sets a Suriname budget is not which day trip but whether you go into the interior: three days at a river lodge costs more than a week of city days, and the fly-in resorts cost more still.
