Overbridge River Resort

Overbridge is the river resort closest to Paramaribo, on the banks of the Suriname River in the Para district, and it does double duty: a weekend stay and a day out.

Orange Travel sells it as a ten-hour day trip from €75 a head, including transport, entrance, lunch, use of a hammock camp and soft drinks, with boat trips, fishing and a natural pool with loungers on site. That combination — a river beach, reachable by road, no flight involved — is why Overbridge turns up as the lunch stop on Jodensavanne tours about as often as it does as a destination in its own right.

We file it under jungle lodges because that is where a traveller will look for it, but it is a soft-adventure river resort rather than an interior lodge: nobody flies here, and nobody needs a korjaal.
